Comparative adjectives

GRAMMAR RULES

  • One-syllable adjectives → We add -er:
                strong - stronger

                - John is stronger than Peter

  • Two-syllable adjectives ending in -y → We change the -y to -i and add -er:
                funny - funnier

                - Helen is funnier than her sister

  • Long adjectives → We add more:
                expensive - more expensive

                - The red skirt is more expensive than the blue skirt
