This school year we have a new language assistant. Her name is Ana and she is from the United States. She arrived in November and over the last month we have learnt many things about her. She is helping us improve our English by doing some fantastic activities. Here you have some photos:
Every year, on the fourth Thursday of November, people in the USA celebrate Thanksgiving Day. We also wanted to celebrate it in our English classes by doing some special activities.

Last week we celebrated Halloween and Samaín at school. We had lots of fun activities in our Arts and Crafts and English lessons, and on Wednesday we had special workshops and activities.
Our kindergarten students had a Halloween cooking workshop. They made delicious Halloween cookies.
The 1st and 2nd graders listened to a fantastic story, Meg and Mog, and after that they played a game and drew a picture about the story.
The 3rd and 4th graders read the story Room on the Broom and watched the film based on the book.
Finally, the 5th and 6th graders participated in a Halloween Treasure Hunt. They worked in teams to find all the clues and get a special prize.

This year, in our school, we are going to work on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). That's why we are going to learn this song and sing for the climate. Here you have the videos with subtitles in English and in Spanish, as well as a karaoke version. Let's sing together and fight for our planet!
This year the 5th and 6th graders learnt how to describe superheroes. They also learnt a lot of things about the comic book writer Stan Lee, who died in 2018. Stan Lee was an American comic book writer, editor, and publisher. He was executive vice president and publisher of Marvel Comics.
Lee co-created Spider-Man, the Hulk, Doctor Strange, the Fantastic Four, Iron Man, Daredevil, Thor, the X-Men, and many other famous comic book characters.

This year, the 1st grade students started our Art School Project with the famous American artist Keith Haring. He was drawing at an early age, which he learned from his father. You can see his drawings in the subway and on the streets in New York City.
